We are happy and proud to announce that DREAMS REWIRED - MOBILISIERUNG DER TRÄUME by Manu Luksch, Martin Reinhart and Thomas Tode won the Austrian Film Critics' Award 'Der papierene Gustl' in the category 'Best Documentary'.
'Der papierene Gustl' is awarded by 81 Austrian film journalists who select the best films of the year. This year 460 films, which have been released in the Austrian theatres in 2016, stood for election. The prize was awarded by the Association of Austrian Film Journalists (DPG) and the Austrian Film Critics' Guild (AFCG). Herbert Wilfinger, from the DPG, presented the prize.
The award ceremony took place at the restaurant Zwischenbrückenwirt on Tuesday, 14th of March 2017. We congratulate Manu Luksch, Martin Reinhart and Thomas Tode and also the winners of 'Best Feature' TONI ERDMANN by Maren Ade, 'Best Austrian Production/Coproduction' STEFAN ZWEIG: FAREWELL TO EUROPE by Maria Schrader and 'Best Austrian Film of the Last Decade' THE WHITE RIBBON by Michael Haneke.
We would also like to thank Tilda Swinton and Dörte Lyssewski, the wonderful voices of the film, as well as the composer Siegfried Friedrich and the whole film team. NIGHT OF A 1000 HOURS celebrated a wonderful German premiere last night! The film opened this year's Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis in the presence of the director and screenwriter Virgil Widrich and the actors Amira Casar and Laurence Rupp as well as the production designer Christina Schaffer and the editor Pia Dumont.
On Thursday the Benelux premiere will take place as a part of the 46th International Film Festival Rotterdam, where Virgil Widrich and Amira Casar will again be present.In addition, Virgil Widrich's film will be shown in the audience competition at the Würzburg International Film Festival.
On Sunday evening the award ceremony will take place, which the director will attend.Today Long Lost by Nadia Masri will celebrate his German premiere in Saarbrücken too and compete in the short film competition. The director and the actor Tommy Schlesser will be present the first night to showcase the film.
