:: Synopsis

Have you ever dreamed of an utopia within our crisis-struck new world order? This feature length documentary deals, in a road-movie manner, with maverick people worldwide trying to realize their visions of a different world and society. Micronations. Neo-Communes. Self-Declared Kingdoms. Underground Temples. Swimming Cities. Paul Poet explores these counter-worlds in six episodes, looking at and behind their self-styled posture of little big statesmen subverting the common rule and portrays their struggles and motivations. Dropping out in the twenty-first century means hard work and personal sacrifice on a tightrope between creative independence and heroic failure. A critical journey through a vibrant modern subculture fueled equally by cinema verite and punk panache.
